Google Adword charges the ad depending on the keyword price & for each click, there will be a certain deduction based on the keyword cost.

It is really simple to identify a Google ad on a Search Engine Result Page. One can search for anything on Google, and the top 3 websites which appear on the result page along with the Ad tag (in green colour) are the paid ads. Sometimes if the query is not relevant the ads may not show up. Also, a paid advertisement can be done on a Google Map, which can be identified with the same Ad tag. Many a time, if the query is typed for the most ranking keywords, then Google may display 9 ads in total. 3 ads on the top, 3 ads in middle with google map & 3 at the bottom side of the SERP.
