Google has slowly started carrying out a new feature of Gmail that allows members of G-Suite to create or access Google Meet video calls directly from within Gmail. After the latest upgrade is provided, users with work or school Gmail accounts should be able to see a latest ‘Meet’ section right above the chats area located on the left side of Gmail’s web page. We should expect mobile devices to have similar features soon.

Following are the steps to host a meeting from Gmail
i) Open Gmail on your PC or laptop
ii) Look for ‘Meet’ section in the sidebar
iii) Under the Meet window, choose the option ‘Start a meeting’
iv) A new window pops up with a unique meet.google.com URL
v) You can now invite more people to join the meeting by sharing a meeting ID via Gmail.
Steps to join a meeting from Gmail
Joining a meeting is easy, all you need is an ID that the organizer shares.
i) Tap on the option ‘Join a meeting’
ii) Enter the meeting code to join

After hosting the meeting, click on the option to include other people and copy the joining info.
Share it through Gmail or via other means.
Note this function also depends on your admin.
So make sure your Gmail admin supports this latest Meet feature in Gmail.
